Found the Perfect Home - But Furniture Won't Fit

You've been looking for a home and you've found one that feels almost perfect. The location is convenient and you can picture your family living here happily. There's a problem, however. One or more pieces of furniture you've had for years just will not fit. Do you buy the home anyway, or keep looking?

Move It?

Suppose the piece of furniture that won't fit is a tall chest-on-chest that's always been in your bedroom. Could you use it in another room? Might it be handsome and useful in the living room or dining room? (Downstairs rooms often have taller ceilings than upstairs rooms.) Could it store games, videos, tablecloths and place mats, and silverware in its new location?

If that thought process takes care of the chest, but you're left without enough storage in the bedroom, what then? Is there a smaller chest of drawers that was used in your old guest room that would fit in your bedroom? What about putting an inexpensive chest of drawers into your walk-in closet?

Give It Away?

Maybe the problem is that you have a bed that's too large for any of the bedrooms in the "almost perfect" house. Is it a Sheraton tall post field bed with canopy or a massive Victorian piece that's been in the family for generations? Do you love it, or might another family member with larger rooms and taller ceilings be very excited to get it?
ADSENSE PLACEHOLDER 336x280

I once gave a massive American Empire sideboard that had belonged to my grandfather's sister to my son and his wife who live in Alaska. It was much too large for my dining room. Now it has pride of place in my son's large living room. Coincidentally, it hides a modern TV which only shows when the doors are swung open. It's still in the family, and the sideboard in my dining room is much smaller and suits the size of my room much better.

Sell It?

Maybe the offending piece of furniture has monetary value, but has no sentimental value whatsoever. Why not just sell it? There's no need to buy a house based on where it'll fit, is there?

Evaluate and Decide

Don't turn down the idea of purchasing a home you'd really enjoy living in out of hand simply because some of your furniture won't fit. Ask yourself questions about the possibilities. When you come up with answers you like, you've made your decision. Who knows, another family member or a stranger shopping for a special piece of furniture could be delighted with your decision, too.
Tip! Only use teak oil and never use any over the counter furniture polish. You will be able to purchase teak oil from any good quality hardware store or a marine supplier as teak oil is used extensively on all sorts of boats and yachts.

The Best Kept Secret For Selling Your Home - Furniture

Driving down a familiar street, as houses are passing by, you see it - For Sale. The real estate company wedged their sign into your neighbor's front lawn. The gossip swims around the neighborhood as common remarks like "I wonder how much they are selling for?" or "I wonder why they are moving?" intrigues our curiosity. But the real question we should all be asking is - "what kind of furniture do they have?"
ADSENSE PLACEHOLDER 336x280

Yes that's correct, I said Furniture. Why you ask? Well, let's jump to it. When selling a home, there are a lot of anxieties, preconceptions, and all sorts of things to get done. In this process people often get carried away in the actual preparation of selling their home opposed to the ultimate goal of making it appealing to the buyer. Let's forget all the real estate company's jargon, and break it down to 4 rough main points that come into the minds of buyers.
Tip! Dry wicker has a tendency to split, so wipe down your furniture regularly with a damp cloth.

1. Money 2. Location 3. Appearance 4. Property

These are the 4 main things that need to get tossed around inside the mind of a buyer. All subcategories of buyer concerns like what type of school district does the area have, or taxes, that would fall into location, money, and other main categories. So not to make our buyers lemmings that walk around uttering these four mantras in zombie like fashion; all minor questions get placed into these four. Lets move on. So where is our furniture? You ask.
Tip! Keep wicker furniture away from direct sunlight, radiators, heating ducts, fireplaces, and wood burning stoves.

So now we have our buyer, ready for action, and really looking for what he, she, or they want in their dream home. Buyers will compromise these four main categories, not by leaps and bounds but enough for you to sell your home happily. The furniture connection to selling your home is a simple one - Value. Having expensive furniture does not mean, you can up the price on your home, since you will most likely take it with you, and the buyer knows that. The value I am talking about is what I call "Creative Value".

Creative Value is a fundamental attraction to selling to a consumer/buyer. Why would someone pay an enormous amount of money for a movie prop, or Babe Ruths baseball card? - Created Value.

Technically you can say well it's just a card, piece of clothing, plastic, metal, or whatever it is, just like money is made of something. No, it's the value you can show people its worth, its imagined and is worth whatever someone will pay, right? Well, Yes. The aim to get a little more for your house is to show people the value, that atmosphere it has, whether it's earthy, modern, homey - whatever. Create the value, by welcoming buyers into the world you make for them.
Tip! Only use teak oil and never use any over the counter furniture polish. You will be able to purchase teak oil from any good quality hardware store or a marine supplier as teak oil is used extensively on all sorts of boats and yachts.

Furniture is just one step in the process of selling your home; commonly overlooked it is an integral part of "Created Value" that will lure buyers into something they can imagine, and be happy with. This is going to be a place that they rest, live, and dream in, your first priority to selling your home is showing them the world you create in your home. Your imagination can be inspiring and create a value all on its own with whatever decor you decide; it just might be the type of place someone would want to call home.

Home Staging Your Vacant House - without Moving in Truckloads of Furniture

If you moved before selling your home, you might be left with a vacant house costing you double mortgage payments. Here are some home staging tips to help you.

Home staging has proven to sell houses in less time and for more money.

According to a report by the Christian Science Monitor, March 2006, staged homes sell for 7.4 percent more and twice as fast. Many home staging services will furnish your vacant house with their furniture and charge you a monthly fee, with prices ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 per month.
ADSENSE PLACEHOLDER 336x280

These high fees may be worth the investment. However, if you don't have the extra cash, there are simple was to get the staged home advantage without spending a lot of money.

New marketing and interior design psychology ideas help you stage homes for sale to motivate buyers and generate top-dollar offers. Instead of leaving investment houses vacant, add a few props to increase your profits.

To gather interior design ideas, visit nearby model homes and take a close look at the way the interior designers dressed the homes to sell. Notice how the designers under-furnished the model homes by using just enough accessories to make a superb marketing presentation, without over doing it to make the rooms seem crowded or small.
Tip! Your walls should be painted with a single neutral color. Contemporary furniture and contemporary style is lost in too much bold color.

You don't need to add as much furniture to your vacant home to encourage buyers to visualize their own furniture in the home. That's the key to your selling strategy--to make your home FEEL like the buyer's dream home.

Use a few props to dress up your vacant house. This helps you sell quickly for more money in many ways:

* Props chosen with your target buyer in mind help reinforce the desired emotions.
* Props add perspective with visual depth -- vacant rooms look flat.
* Props, especially fabric cover round tables, soften the hollow, echo sound.
* Props help to keep property in the mind of buyers who view many houses in a row.
* Props create focal points for buyers to imagine their own furnishings in the home and get them thinking about living in the space.

Learn how to take advantage of interior design psychology home staging. Find out how to profile your target buyer and use interior design details proven to turn houses into buyers' dream homes.

Real Estate Open House - Stage an Open House with Borrowed Furniture?

Recently I showed a house in an middle-class area. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of a new business - Staging Open Houses. What a good business. This idea is not new but the lovely lady I met added her own twist to this.

Mary's primary business is Home Decorating. She has a great affinity for homes, their furnishings and decorations. She explained to me some of her strategies for finding clients for both of her affiliated businesses. She visits open houses and meets the Real Estate Agents. After explaining her business and handing out cards, she offers to go thru the house and give the Agent some free tips to help make the atmosphere more pleasurable for the visitor.
ADSENSE PLACEHOLDER 336x280

After having experienced this tour, I decided to check out other ways to accomplish this task without having to hire an independent consultant. I found that you can rent furniture from Rental companies and, it may be possible, to make an arrangement with a local furniture store to borrow some furniture. This arrangement can help both the Agent who is now showing a less than empty house and the Store, for free advertising. This is a good way to help your sales efforts and, at the same time, help you to become known in the business community.

Real Estate Sales takes time, connections and serious dedication. An active Agent should look for ways to improve their sales while working on other things. I call this NET time. I attempt to use NET (No Extra Time) whenever I can to accomplish more than one task for both Real Estate Sales and being a good neighbor.
Tip! The use of classical motifs that later became the standard for many English designs that followed. These motifs are used everywhere not just in furniture.

Bankruptcy Furniture; What is It?

It will perhaps be a little more than obvious if I start by saying that bankruptcy furniture is the furniture that is auctioned when someone declares bankruptcy. The prices are similar to that of a garage sale. In the case of individuals claiming bankruptcy under Chapter 7, they can claim exempt property under Bankruptcy Furniture. It needs to be made clear that this provision is not available for corporations.

It is easy for individuals to seek out and find bankruptcy furniture on the internet. There are many websites where among other things, bankruptcy furniture is also auctioned and you can find a good deal there. Bankruptcy furniture ranges from antique bedroom furniture to extremely modern office furniture and you can pretty much find anything at all in these auctions. This is due to people accumulating various kinds of furniture and unlike a firm that specializes in making one kind of furniture this is more based on what was in the possession of the said individual or company at the time of falling into bankruptcy.

Most websites often provide provisions for comparison so that buyers can make a more informed decision and identify better value for their money.
ADSENSE PLACEHOLDER 336x280

For those who are filing for bankruptcy and not actually looking to buy anything from these sales, filing Chapter 7 Bankruptcy is one way of avoiding an overwhelming debt that has been incurred and in this provision one is allowed to keep some part of their personal belongings and also a part of your home.

A lawyer is appointed to value the property that is not exempt and she/he will liquidate these assets to pay out the creditors. Bankruptcy furniture is one of the categories of personal belongings that are exempt under this particular section. The total value of bankruptcy furniture that you are permitted to retain depends on the statute under which the bankruptcy is claimed and differs from state to state.

As bankruptcy furniture is exempt for individuals, the creditors or trustees may in some cases raise objections to the value that the furniture has been assessed for. In other cases where the Bankruptcy Furniture is of relatively higher value and exceeds the statutory value determined for exemption the trustee will appoint an auctioneer who specializes in Bankruptcy Furniture.
Tip! Only use teak oil and never use any over the counter furniture polish. You will be able to purchase teak oil from any good quality hardware store or a marine supplier as teak oil is used extensively on all sorts of boats and yachts.

You should know that since filing bankruptcy under Section 7 is also meant to protect the bankrupt, there are certain criterion which must be fulfilled before the individual can be eligible for filing bankruptcy. The primary criteria is that the disposable income of the person filing for Chapter 7 must be less than the median income in their state of residence. This among other things such as credit counseling, giving notice to the creditors and having current tax returns forms part of the eligibility criterion and in most cases many people are not eligible for want of the median income criterion.
Tip! Color – Colors are important when choosing furniture. They add to the overall theme of the room.

Office Chairs, Furniture and Supplies, Workplace Needs for the Average Office

Whether you are moving office spaces or are a new start up company, you are going to have needs in the office supply department. There are several considerations to take into account when deciding on what to purchase for your workplace environment. Even on a budget, with all of the office supply stores and online shopping sites, you should be able to spend your money wisely and get what is needed with some careful planning.
ADSENSE PLACEHOLDER 336x280

First, you should take into consideration the size of the space available and the number of employees. Do you need to break up the area into sections with more privacy and noise control? Perhaps it would be better for your situation if all of the employees shared a joint workspace. Cubicles are needed for most arrangements of four or more employees, due to the budget needs of not building additional walls and the mobility need to accommodate the area. Cubicles can also provide a terrific sound block if the right model is purchased and still allows the user to interact quite easily with the other workers.
Tip! Keep wicker furniture away from direct sunlight, radiators, heating ducts, fireplaces, and wood burning stoves.

There is a wide variety of styles, colors, fabrics and sizes available in office cubicles. Most complete office interior retailers will come to your workplace to help you with the layout, measuring and ordering of the cubicles and assist with most other office furniture needs. They usually offer chairs, keyboard trays, storage cabinets and other supplies to purchase all items in one spot. Online shopping sites are also carrying custom ordered products with all of the options and tons of great product lines and various categories.

Office Chairs are another office product that can be quite complicated, you will need different types of chairs and seating for different rooms and tasks. Some chairs will be used with multiple workers and adjustability is the key feature, other chairs will be used with one specific person in mind and fitting it to that person's body type is considered most important. Make sure what the important main functions will be before deciding on a chair model
Tip! Wicker furniture can be painted to go with your decorating scheme. Your local home store should be able to advise you on the best paint to use.

Ordering the correct number of keyboard trays, footrests, phones and equipment is based on the number of employees one has and the size of the space. If possible, try to order a few extras of the important supplies used in daily tasks. When ordering extras, you will never run out of equipment when an item needs warranty repair or maintenance.

Hopes are that with careful planning and making sure to factor in the workstation considerations, you will be able to start your new work arrangement well and comfortably. Ordering online can save a business time and money and with easy to compare pricing, direct shipping and extensive product detail pages, you will be done quickly. Make lists of the needs for your workspace before starting to shop and take each need into consideration when purchasing your office furniture, chairs and supplies.

Tip! Ensure the furniture is completely dry as any moisture on it will be trapped within the wood and may cause black mildew spots to appear after the furniture has been oiled. It may take up to 48 hours for your furniture to try completely after it has rained.

Office Furniture

Furniture. What would we do without it? Sit on the floor most likely. Whoever invented furniture did mankind a great service. And it has so many uses.

For starters, there's the furniture we use for our work. There are more kinds of furniture for work purposes than we probably need. But then again, maybe we do.

Take your standard desk. Well, maybe not so standard. There are many kinds of desks. Desks with drawers, desks without drawers, which are primarily made simply to keep stuff on. What kind of stuff? All kinds. Printers, computers, fax machines, telephones, and the list goes on and on. Of course desks come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. There are rectangular desks, square desks, oval or circular desks which are used mostly for those company meetings. There are big desks that can span half a room and small desks that can fit in the corner. Then of course your have your L shaped desks so that you and a co worker can work together without getting in each other's way.
ADSENSE PLACEHOLDER 336x280

Of course no office furniture would be complete without chairs. There are plenty of those to choose from as well, some more comfortable than others. You've got your hard chairs with absolutely NO padding whatsoever. Basically they're a couple of legs, hard wooden seat and hard wooden back. Kind of like the chairs your school teacher would put you in and stick you in a corner with when you were bad. But then there are the really NICE office chairs. You know the ones I mean. They have steel tripod supports, leather seat and back, swivel around and so comfortable you could fall asleep in them. Somewhere in between you have your felt foam seat chairs with felt foam backs. They're not as comfortable but you can sit in them for an 8 hour day.
Tip! The use of classical motifs that later became the standard for many English designs that followed. These motifs are used everywhere not just in furniture.

Then you have your carts. These are mostly used for your Mr. Coffee that sits in the corner of the room so that you can get your caffeine fix when you need it. No office would be complete without a cart of some kind. The good thing about them is that they're small enough not to get in the way and big enough to do the job.

Then of course there are the filing cabinets. Have you ever seen an office that didn't have a filing cabinet? These also come in all shapes and sizes. There are the long cabinets usually used for storing irregularly shaped and large documents. Then there are your standard filing cabinets for storing manila folders. Most of these come with special racks inside so you can hang your documents up and not have to worry about them falling all over the place.
Tip! Keep your contemporary furniture choices to a bare minimum. Purchase items that you really need, but leave out the side tables, footstools, magazine racks, etc.

Yes, there is a ton of office furniture to choose from and based on the kind of office you have and the kind of decor you want to display to your workers will determine to a great extent what kind of furniture you get.

In the next article we'll go over furniture for your home.

Office Furniture and Ergonomics, the Problems Created by Improper Positioning

Most employees spend the majority of the day sitting in their workstation, being comfortable should be important. When it comes to proper positioning, sitting correctly and making sure the equipment is at the right height, is most important. Improper positioning can lead to serious problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome or tendinitis. These can make typing, holding paperwork and even using the telephone difficult and sometimes impossible.
ADSENSE PLACEHOLDER 336x280

When suffering from the effects of one of the problems caused by improper ergonomics, a worker cannot usually even perform the most standard of office tasks. Many new ergonomic office equipment and furniture features are available and new advancements and discoveries are constantly being created to help with positioning in the best possible position.

Carpal tunnel is usually associated with workers who spend a large portion of their day in front of the computer typing and is thought to be caused by improper wrist positioning and inability to relax the arm while using it to type. The mouse can also be placed at an improper height, forcing the user to have difficulties keeping the arm at the relaxed position. Tendinitis is also caused by improper wrist positioning and can be avoided with ergonomic equipment and proper positioning once installed.
Tip! Dry wicker has a tendency to split, so wipe down your furniture regularly with a damp cloth.

The chair is really the most important ergonomic device in the workstation as the user spends most of their workday sitting in the seat and putting stress on the muscles and spine. It is found through study that the proper sitting position is not truly an upright position but slightly reclined. In order to keep the proper postion, a chair with a tilt mechanism, preferably one that can lock into several positions is needed.
Tip! After you have wiped or washed wicker furniture let it dry completely before using it again.

If not seated properly in your office chair, it can cause back and lower lumbar problems eventually and can be easily avoided if educated on ergonomics. Carpal tunnel, tendinitis and back pain can be avoided as easily as paying attention to proper workstation and body positioning and letting ergonomics take the credit. Educating employees and ourselves in ergonomic techniques is the first step to preventing such work related injuries and avoiding problems.

Amy Lieberfarb has been in the office furniture and interior sales industry for 11 years and currently runs two online websites dedicated to Office Chairs and Furniture. Providing information on how to pick the right ergonomic chair and featuring hundreds of different chairs, the site is very informative.

Decorating Your Workplace with Tropical Office Furniture

If you love the tang of salt in the air, the soft whisper of nearby waves, and the crunch of sand between your toes, what better way could there be to create a workspace that you truly enjoy using than by decorating with tropical office furniture. Tropical surroundings inspire creativity and create a relaxed and productive atmosphere for your home office or place of business. Innovative pieces of office furniture "tropical" - such as lovely computer armoires and printer cabinets - give your workplace an elegant look with the practical benefit of helping you to keep organized. Here is a guide to choosing Hawaiian computer armoires, Bali file cabinets, and other types of office furniture, tropical style.

Materials Used in Office Furniture - Tropical Vegetation and Construction Techniques

Three terms used to describe materials that are commonly found in office furniture "tropical" style are wicker, rattan, and bamboo. Wicker actually refers to a kind of furniture building technique where strands of grasses or vines are woven together. This technique creates durable and lightweight computer armoires and other office furniture that is also environmentally friendly. Rattan is a tropical tree that grows around other trees in a jungle. Bamboo, on the other hand, is a kind of thick-skinned grass with a hollow center.
ADSENSE PLACEHOLDER 336x280

Both rattan and bamboo can be used for the structural elements of office furniture "tropical" style, whereas rattan is generally used for wicker style construction. Wicker is commonly used as decoration on the sides of tropical style computer armoires, the sides of writing desks, or the padded backs of chairs.

Selecting High Quality Office Furniture, Tropical Style

When selecting tropical computer armoires and other office furniture, tropical realities are very important. The hollow nature of bamboo means that high-quality bamboo furniture is usually wrapped to prevent splitting over time. Rattan also tends to be more flexible and durable, meaning that it is more commonly used in today's office furniture. Tropical rattan may have knobby joints, and is often wrapped for a smooth appearance.

The thickness of the individual strands of rattan will influence both the price and quality of your office furniture. Tropical rattan has an ideal diameter of about one and a half inches. High-quality rattan computer armoires and other office furniture should have a smooth and even finish, free of blotches and spotting. The most secure method of securing rattan used in tropical office furniture is glue, followed by screws. Staples and nails tend to come loose over time.
Tip! Remember to follow the instructions provided on the teak oil package before applying it to the furniture and generally this would be that you apply a light coating of the oil using a clean lint free rag or paint brush. Normally one coat should be sufficient.

By understanding the materials used in computer armoires and other office furniture, tropical style, you should be well equipped to add the flair of the islands to your own workplace.

Each and every business firm should have its needs, budgets and objectives. The type or selection of office furniture will depend upon the type of company. For e.g. a computer center needs rolling chairs, computer tables etc but a business firm may consist of different rooms, cabins and reception. Every room needs different furniture like computer table and rolling chairs for cabins and large sofas, tables for reception.

Don't take such decisions in hurry, especially when you have a wide variety of options to decide from. The main thing is to find the best company that provides different options at the cheapest rates. The company having proper knowledge about your layout and objectives can help you to choose the office furniture that is right for you.

DIY Guide For Office Furniture Leads - Desks, Cubicles, Copiers, Fax Machines, Printers, Supplies

Are you a salesperson that sells office furniture such as cubicles, desks, or ergonomic office chairs? Or perhaps you sell Copiers, fax machines, or printers? Maybe you sell office supplies or mailing equipment? Whatever you sell, do you want to generate more sales leads without cold calling via the internet?

This is a do-it-yourself (DIY) guide for generating internet office furniture leads and other sales leads for salespeople that sell office furniture and equipment.

One of the easiest ways for salespeople to generate leads is to draw on people that are using search engines to look for the products that you are selling and pay to capture that lead. It costs just pennies to capture the lead.

Before explaining how to do it, you must first create a list of "keywords" that you think people that need your products are searching on search engines. Here is a short list of popular internet searches for office equipment and furniture:

* color copier printer fax
* refurbished copiers
* discount office furniture
* commercial office equipment
* Chicago office cubicles
* leather office chairs
* contemporary office chairs
* Atlanta office supplies
* wholesale office supplies
* rebuilt mailing equipment
* secretary desks
* audio visual presentation equipment
* multifunction printer scanner
* home office furniture
* Los Angeles office furniture

Of course, this is just an example of keywords that you can use. For yourself, you need to choose keywords that are relevant to what you sell. Choose specific keywords and use the city that you live in, like I did in a few of the examples above.

To use internet search engines for office furniture leads you must have a website yourself. Create one if you do not already have one. The way it works is that your keywords are shown as "sponsored results" whenever someone searches those words on search engines. Whenever someone clicks on your link and is taken to your website you pay for the click. But don't worry; each click is relatively cheap. It normally costs just pennies per click.
Tip! Keep your contemporary furniture choices to a bare minimum. Purchase items that you really need, but leave out the side tables, footstools, magazine racks, etc.

It really is that easy. People searching for your products on search engines come to your website via sponsored listings and then it is your job to close the sale on the lead.

Sourcing Office Furniture In China is Good Strategy for Office Distributors

Sourcing new office products in China may not be as easy as getting your main supply from just around the corner. However, it seems that for companies looking to have the lead on the competition in this day and age, they would need to plan on a strategy involving sourcing some product in China. Cost pressure is a reason that many American distributors are turning to the international suppliers who offer the lowest cost in labor, a major cost in any manufacturing or distribution project.

China's demand for manufacturing facilities for office equipment, chairs, and furniture has grown significantly in the past few years. Many major furniture producers are located in China and the number is growing due to demand from American consumers. The world economy is seemingly recovering which means more opportunities for U.S. companies to export their products, but still China remains strong in the industry and hard to beat.

The U.S. however, does seem to have a terrific niche market in the ergonomic style and high-end design category. With the Herman Miller Aeron and Humanscale Freedom Chair being at the top of their class and uncomparable, the expensive ergonomic models are still mass produced in the United States.

With effective use of transportation and with knowledge of the importing and exporting industry, a company can take advantage of the low prices offered for basically the same office chairs, desks and furniture offered from the U.S. manufacturers.

With higher profit margins and product moving faster due to the outrageously low prices, American office furniture dealers who are taking advantage of these overseas pricing advantages are steps beyond the rest.
Tip! In a contemporary-styled room, lighting works best when it isn't obvious. Use indirect lighting to add ambience and to enhance the sleek design of your contemporary furniture.

Navigating the Maze of Industrial Furniture

When you're new to the responsibility of buying industrial furniture - whether you need a portable stage, drafting table, modular desks, school furniture, or office partitions - it's difficult to quickly get a grasp of the range of products available, and even harder to determine which products will work best for your needs. Here's a quick rundown to get you started: Portable Stage: Portable stages come in a variety of heights, typically 8 inches, 16 inches, 24 inches, 32 inches, and 40 inches. They are also available in different widths and lengths, the most common being 3 feet by 6 feet, 3 feet by 8 feet, 4 feet by 6 feet, and 4 feet by 8 feet. The top of a portable stage is called a deck, and can be made from hardboard or polypropylene. Polypropylene decks can be carpeted to enhance their appearance. Portable stages give you a wide variety of options. You can, for example, buy several platforms of the same height to form a flat performance stage. Or, you can buy several different heights to construct band or choral risers. When buying a portable stage, look for those that assemble quickly and that take up little room when folded and stacked. Finally, keep in mind that for safety reasons, guardrails should be used on the sides and rear of stages. School Furniture: When selecting school furniture, the two realities are that kids grow and that they are hard on furniture. By all means, select desks that are height-adjustable and that have laminate surfaces that are easy to clean and hard to damage. School desks are typically available with two types of openings: the lift-lid kind and the open-front type. If you select desks with lift-lid openings, be sure that they have sturdy steel hinges and dual closing devices for durability and quietness. School chairs are usually available in four heights: 12 inches, 14 inches, 16 inches, and 18 inches. The chair legs are either tubular (for linoleum or other hard floor surfaces) or what's called a sled base (for carpeted surfaces). Stackable chairs usually work best for school settings, since they're easy to store and simple to move for cleaning. Drafting Table: The most crucial element of a drafting table is height adjustability. The proper height is important to prevent back strain and injuries. The top of the drafting table should have a non-glare finish and a top angle adjustment of up to 50 degrees. In addition, a drafting table should include a tool drawer and a reference drawer. Office Partitions: There are many different types of office partitions from which to choose. Look for those that feature panels with adjustable glides and quick connectors to combine two or more panels. Keep in mind that office spaces change, so the office partitions you choose should allow for flexibility.
